Description

Synthetic identity fraud is nothing new—the creation of fake identities for criminal activities has been around as long as bad guys have been looking to escape authorities. However, modern criminals have been able to exploit the underpinnings of the current (flawed) personal identity regime to take synthetic identity fraud to a whole new level. As a result, this form of fraud is the new elephant in the room—a problem that is rising to epic proportions. This panel will discuss why synthetic identities are so difficult to detect and fraud losses are understated, best practices in identity verification and machine learning analytical techniques, and what to do with a synthetic once you’ve found it.
