Description

Automated account takeover attacks are a huge problem for businesses and customers. With many free or nominally priced online tools available that facilitate access to consumer data, verify stolen credentials, and use proxy networks, someone doesn’t need to be a technology whiz to steal a genuine user account.

In a digital-first world, consumers are increasingly shopping and accessing services online. Greater adoption of smartphones means users are not tied down to a specific location and can access digital services on the go. While on-demand access to online services has made it convenient for consumers to transact, it has also led to a spike in fraud and online abuse.

In this session, we will demonstrate how easy it is to download account takeover software, find stolen credentials online, and start stealing bank accounts. We'll also cover how businesses can identify and stop these kinds of attacks as well as develop a long-term approach to fighting fraud online.
