Description

Money launderers and terrorist are using new technologies to move funds to further their criminal activities. Therefore, so must the financial institutions and regulatory agencies tasked with preventing and uncovering their illicit activities. In 2018, The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the National Credit Union Administration, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued a joint statement encouraging banks to “responsibly implement innovative approaches to meet their BSA/AML compliance obligations, in order to further strengthen the financial system against illicit financial activity.” This panel discussion will provide a deep dive into why artificial intelligence should be at the core of any regtech implementation sophisticated enough to stay one step ahead of terrorists and criminals.
