Katherine Wood is the Vice President of Transaction & Payment Fraud for Capital One's US Card Business in McLean, Virginia. She is responsible for the overall suite of fraud prevention, detection and treatment strategies for the US Card business, and for the identification and management of first party fraud, including in the areas of payment fraud and bustout. Just prior to joining Capital One, Katherine ran the cybersecurity product portfolio for Siemens Energy, focused on managing risk to industrial assets. She also has 15 years of background in consulting and data analytics, during which time she supported financial regulators in applying data science to establish fraud capabilities, including in the areas authentication, authorization, and fraud detection. Katherine earned her Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University and her MBA from Georgetown University.
