Description

It’s 2023, and we’re still talking about check fraud? Who would’ve thought this would be the case 10 years ago, when check use was declining and card fraud was the most pressing problem for most fraud execs at financial institutions. Fast forward the present day--card-present fraud is well controlled thanks to EMV, and fraudsters have realized that deposit fraud represents a soft underbelly for most North American financial institutions. Thanks to a combination of years of underinvestment in deposit fraud control frameworks and an intensive focus on this attack vector, deposit fraud losses have been spiking in North America since mid-2021. This interactive panel discussion will address the key attack vectors and pain points as well as innovative solutions that financial institutions are using to stem the rising tide of fraud losses.
