In their attempts to make the digital channel more secure, financial institutions have often failed to understand how those security measures affect the user experience. Obtrusive and annoying security measures require consumers to jump through hoops just to log into their banking accounts and conduct business online with their FI. But today’s consumers have many nonbanking digital experiences that are pressuring FIs to streamline their digital channels. It’s time to take a good look at internal authentication and fraud systems to lower friction and put a smile on customers’ faces.
