James is the Chief Operating Officer of the respected Identity Theft Resource Center, a national nonprofit that provides free assistance to victims of identity crimes and objective research on identity & privacy issues. A former global corporate executive, James is a subject matter expert on how privacy and security regulations impact business operations.

Prior to joining the ITRC, James served as Executive Vice President, Director, & Company Secretary for Irish cybersecurity company Waratek; SVP & Chief Public & Consumer Affairs Officer at data pioneer ChoicePoint; a global public affairs & communication executive at International Paper Company; and, on the advisory boards of several tech start-ups. James led two working groups for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on identity management and privacy.

James holds credentials from the University of Arkansas, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and the University of Texas Center for Identity. He is a life-long baseball fan (Let’s Go Nats!), a collector of pop culture, and a purveyor of useless facts.
