Application fraud has been a growing problem for financial services firms for a few years, with the problem exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. As digital transformation has accelerated, and a greater proportion of applications are received via online and mobile channels, it is more critical than ever to have effective risk controls that can detect identity theft and synthetic identities, while ushering good prospective customers in the door with minimal friction.
