Description

For an industry that is exceptionally cognizant of the value of using measurements to assess financial risk when it comes to managing credit, many markets in financial services are surprisingly inconsistent in measuring the degree to which fraud poses a challenge to the performance of the market and, by extension, to the members of that market. While there is a general consensus that the industry’s lack of consistent fraud metrics and benchmarking is an irritating deficiency, there is very little agreement on the scale of the challenge and whether it's worth the considerable amount of effort required to overcome it. This panel will discuss the current state of metrics and benchmarking, the benefits and challenges of establishing consistent measurements, and how to get involved in industrywide efforts to overcome this obstacle in the U.S. market.
